October: Walking in Truth
I can’t believe it’s October already.
This month, we’re covering a few Books: Nahum, Habbakuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zachariah and Malachi. Don’t be alarmed — they’re short books and, for the most part, we won’t be doing more than 1 chapter a day.
Our overall theme for this month is “Walking in Truth.” And while the truth may be subjective for us as humans, God’s truth is sovereign and never changes.
In the Book of Nahum, we learn that God’s truth always prevails, over enemies, over trials, over temptations. We trust in Him because He never waivers.
In the Book of Habbakuk, we practice walking in God’s truth, even when the path isn’t clear. His understanding goes beyond what we could ever imagine.
In the Book of Zephaniah, we let God’s truth heal us. Through revealing our sin, we can begin the process of repentance and forgiveness, which leads to restoration.
In the Book of Haggai, we align our truth with God’s truth. When God is the center of our lives, our purpose is in line with what He has called us to.
In the Book of Zechariah, we believe the truth in God’s promises. In God we place our hope, for He has promised us a Savior and redemption.
In the Book of Malachi, we accept the truth of everyday faithfulness and obedience to God. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, in every culture, time period and context.
